Stronger neighborhood centers <\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a large supply of shops and services in the adjacent neighborhoods of the district, but there are also old and established neighborhood centers that should be strengthened and maintained.
On the one hand it is the neighborhood center on the corner of H\u00e1teigsvegur and Skipholt and on the other hand Su\u00f0urver on the corner of Stigahl\u00ed\u00f0 and Hamrahl\u00ed\u00f0.
Improve pedestrian and bicycle access to both locations and create a location for electric scooters. An increase in the number of apartments in the area will strengthen the backbone of shops and services within walking distance. \u00a0At Su\u00f0urver there will be a Borgarl\u00ednan stop.<\/p>\n

In 1934, planning work began on the residential area in Nor\u00f0urm\u00fdri, which was the first comprehensive residential area to be planned east of the part of the old Hringbraut that is now called Snorrabraut. Holt and Hl\u00ed\u00f0ar followed suit and the neighborhood was mostly built in the sixties. Su\u00f0urhl\u00ed\u00f0ar was built in the eighties and currently a settlement is being built at Hl\u00ed\u00f0arendi and the southern roots of \u00d6skjuhl\u00ed\u00f0.

Neighborhood conservation does not protect the buildings, but instead means protection of the characteristics of older settlements, which the terms of the neighborhood plan for various changes and\/or additions will take into account.<\/p>\n
